The 2009 Coyote Nitro Pan Car

Click picture to ZOOM

The Coyote nitro pan car has gone through several versions, and updates over the past seven years to get to where it is today; winner of the 2007 and 2008 GASCAR Points Series Championship. What started out as a dream and hand-built from spare parts and scrap material, has developed into one of the most competitive 1/10 scale nitro oval cars on the market. The Coyote nitro pan car was designed and developed for nitro oval endurance racing, and is NOT a converted electric pan car. Although, a regular 1/10 scale electric pan car can be converted to nitro with the upcoming Team Coyote Nitro Conversion kit, which is in the initial stages of development.

The Coyote Nitro Pan Car was built to withstand vigorous mains of up to 500 laps of high-speed racing, on concrete or asphalt oval tracks. The Coyote can take a beating, to endure the long mains, and is designed with special "shear points" which give way in front end crashes, saving the chassis plate and other vital parts. The Coyote has only one body mounting post. The body is screwed onto the chassis via six body mounting holes; two on each side; one on the front and one on the center of the roof. The addition of a body post in the front, behind the front suspension, was added last year, after hours of competition and does help support the body if the front bumper is damaged.

The unique feature of the Coyote, is the 3-point rear pod design, which features two vertical side shocks, and a single center shock, all of which are fully adjustable. The car tunes quickly to different tracks, and stays tuned, even after laps of competition. The rear pod assembly utilizes a spring steel T-plate design, just like conventional electric pan cars, along with typical 1/10 scale axles, hubs and gears.
